I have at least a half-dozen software synths on my DAW (highly reputable ones too, from what I understand). I almost never use them. They just drive me batty. I don't even want to explain why because I'll just get mad all over again....I just spent the last hour and a half twiddling with a bunch of them to get ONE SOUND that I hear in my head for a particular song... Forget it. I don't know, I'm just not a virtual knob twiddler I guess. Either that or I'm not 16 (personal inside joke ;-)

Okay, January is gone, and I did make some progress on the album - mainly in the way of keyboard parts and textures. My head is just a maze of confusion right now, as I've got seemingly an endless amount of work before me. Now I remember how much I hated doing this stuff the last time... I just don't enjoy this process at all. But every once in a while I will come up with a good musical idea that inspires me enough to come back the next day and power up the studio yet again.
